One trope that i find weird is that during batfam reconciliation fics, the batfam members use alfred as like the big red button to bring jason back, but i feel like that wouldn't actually work. at all.

Jason would HATE alfred after everything he did after he died. Canonically, it was alfred that made the "a good soldier" memorial case, bruce wanted it down but alfred insisted he keep it up, he was the one that gave tim the Robin suit THAT JASON DIED IN, and drove him to save batman and nightwing with NO training at all. He also helped keep up all the "jason was always doomed for a life of crime, and he was an angry child that got himself killed" narrative that was spun after DitF. Alfred pennyworth is batman's biggest enabler, and has stood by while bruce did all his bullshit, such as the whole UtRH arc, and RHatO #25, where he said that it was inevitable that jason would go back on the whole no killing agreement.

Alfred may care for all of Bruce's children, but his only grandchild is damian, as shown when he made him robin behind tim's back( the whole "dick made damian robin" thing is just to add to tim angst. Dick was infact against that whole shitshow). If it doesn't benefit bruce, his pseudo son/employer and landlord, he wouldn't give a fuck.

It's basically impossible to write a reconciliation fic at all without completely rewriting characters, especially jason and alfred. Jason believes that batman's mission is flawed and useless since he doesn't permanently stop crime, so he'd never fully give up killing, the whole reason there's a rift between him and bruce, and alfred isn't this doting grandfather that always sides with his grandchildren and bakes cookies and makes tea.

Also, one major thing the fandom forgets is that alfred is canonically a shitty father to julia, his bio daughter. He abandoned his own daughter for the waynes, he'd never prioritise bruce's children over him.

Stan and Soos' sorta-Dad and Sonployee relationship

We of course have Soos assigning Stan as his father figure the moment he got hired

But Stan holds that moment dear too, with Soos becoming his main source of company after the Mystery Shack, his first big success, was starting to hit rock bottom. And he made sure to keep the screwdriver that led Soos to him for a decade which unfortunately gets stolen by a certain time traveler...

(Their meeting being a paradox of Soos' family leading him to them is super sweet too!)

Playing one game of catch with their dads still was a dream for both of them, even when it was clear that it'll never happen, even when Soos knows that the Pines are his family and he shouldn't care about that biological deadbeat, even when Filbrick threw Stan away like trash.

But both of them end up finding closure with each other anyway.

Along with Stan likely teaching him how to fix golf carts (to the point that Soos is pretty skilled at it now), he also taught him boxing and tried to do something about his birthday, which is another sore spot for the both of them.

In the Sooscast, we have Stan continuing with the podcast despite learning this horrifying truth/not understanding what the hell is going on.

Noticeably, we see that Stan is a lot more lenient on Soos in comparison to Dipper, mostly because Stan doesn't project most of his issues onto him. (Not that he's immune from chores or shitty tasks but that's the burden of being a sonployee...)

And in NWHS, Stan trusts him to guard the lab with no questions asked (even if that ended up being foiled by Soos loving Mabel and Dipper too)

The comic story is Soos helping Stan regain and continue one of his childhood dreams, with the website having Stan continuing to draw on the Stan o' War.

And while unfortunately most of their father-son relationship content is at the end or after the series, Alex still said a lot about them in the commentary and interviews!

Before they met, Soos was someone who appeared to only really have his Abuelita and cousin, while Stan had.... a baby goat. And a disappearing frilly lizard.

We have Stan claiming that the reason why he never had children was because of his own dad and that money is basically his child (which just loops around back to his money obsession being his desire to get back his family)

But even still, he passes down the Shack and fez to Soos with barely any pause, the fez in particular being tied up with a lot of complex emotions. But Soos getting his own suit fitted just for him and not being pressured to wear a girdle to hide his weight kinda symbolizes to me that the role of Mr Mystery is now free from that baggage.

And whenever we'd end up getting Stan o' War stories, I'm sure the two of them are gonna get way more father-son moments

Sometimes annoying your bratty husband with silly gifts will cause him to bluescreen unintentionally. It's fine, though. Just take advantage of his touch starvation with cuddles to override the issue. Any biting and hissing that follows is totally normal. You may then proceed with your usual goofy antics of sticking tape onto the end of his tail when he's not looking, no doubt leading to the massacre of half your followers. :]

I can't be the only one convinced that Narinder hates having stuff around his wrists after finally being freed. I Can Not.

Holy shit it’s been another year????? The hell?????

Also! Your art style is gorgeous and that being found in 2023 and then refined throughout late 2023 and the entirety of 2024 really shows, as does your growth in panel layouts, perspective, and — as you said — experimentation. If you ever post your animation or video game art I’m looking forward to it.

As cheesy as it sounds, being able to laugh at funny comics and look at all the details of your art really made my 2024 brighter, even when things were hard. Including looking at your older art— it doesn’t need to be new to be enjoyable! I’m glad your art is well loved and it’s a privilege to have been here since the (near) beginning. I hope you take care of yourself in 2025 and beyond!

Thank you so much for keeping up with my art journey throughout these last two years! Two years!!! I am baffled at how that feels both too long and too short!

Admittedly, my art summary didn't manage to capture the fact that I did a lot of comic layouts that I'm really proud of. I also drew more backgrounds and made some very detailed works (*Dungeon Meshi spoilers for these examples*).

The growth is lot more evident when comparing my 'best' comics of 2023 to 2024:

Sometimes the growth is vertical, sometimes it is horizontal - and damn, sometimes it goes out of sight into the Z-plane. But it is always happening!

I feel like we don't collectively appreciate enough that Harrow is TINY. Like it's common for necromancers to be malnourished, on the shorter side, unhealthily underweight, but Harrow is tiny even by all necro standards.

She struggles with the depth of the water in the pool scene. Lots of characters carry her or Nona around like it's nothing. In Pal's River bubble, maybe things worked different, but his seemed especially rigid about realistic rules imposed, and even he was able to lift her easily off the ground. Joli at first insisted that Nona couldn't be more that 14 at most. Hot Sauce is 14, yet some of the kids held up before the broadcast look "older than Hot Sauce" and "a lot older than Nona". When they need to Harrow up Nona, they get black clothes off the smallest Blood of Eden member they can find and still have to tailor those down to fit her. There is no way this woman is even 5 feet tall.

As someone who is also pretty small and has always been mistaken for much younger than I am, I love and appreciate this very much.

But also...

The main thing people seem to point to for Tall Alecto is lifting Harrow up in the NtN epilogue, but even ignoring that Harrow's body was literally falling apart 10 seconds before, I offer for consideration: Imagine if Alecto is like 155cm / 5'1", she just still needed to lift Harrow's face because Harrow's like 145cm / 4'9". Gideon all "Get in line, thou big slut" and the Big Slut barely comes up to her shoulder (yet could casually toss her through a wall).

‼️MAJOR SHADOW GENERATIONS SPOILERS‼️

I need to talk about that final cutscene. I NEED TO TALK ABOUT THAT FINAL CUTSCENE.

I think the most important part of Shadow and Maria’s conversation here is its ending.

When Maria tells Shadow that “if fate draws us apart, I know I will always be in your heart” his first instinct is to fight it, to tell her to “wait” so that he can think of a solution.

But he hesitates. He allows himself to process her words, after all like Rouge said Maria is the only one who could ever talk him down, and it makes him angry.

He’s angry because he’s listening to her.

He’s angry because he knows she’s right.

He’s angry because he doesn’t want her to be right.

And most importantly he’s angry at himself, that despite everything, despite knowing that this is the last time he will ever see her, he can’t bring himself to watch her go. Not again.

So he sprits off and doesn’t look back, immediately focusing himself on the task Maria has encouraged him to peruse. To help his friends. And the task he promised Maria he would undertake, to follow her wish for everyone to be happy.

I think deep down he knows that includes him too, and chasing after something he lost so long ago will only make that impossible.

He’s finally moving on and it hurts him. But he takes it head on like he always does.

Yet this time he lets himself cry. He lets himself hurt. He lets himself heal and let go.

He’s going to be ok now. Even if it hurts. He’s going to let himself move on now.

Because he knows now, without a doubt, that that’s what Maria wants for him.

someone give me one-sided Aotsumi. Takumi who developed feelings for the kind and reliable Eito, only to find out the latter saw him as a disgusting creature. Takumi who tried so hard to hate Eito and suppress his feelings but had his resolve crumble more and more as he goes through the second scenario. Takumi who can't bring himself to kill Eito because as much as he hates him, he still has a semblance of care for the traitor.

Takumi who finds out his feelings are reciprocated only when Eito dies and uses his final words to confess.

Shazam: Trapped in a VR Game scenario?

Mary , Billy and Freddy had heard of a new VR game calling itself, "The Trials of Shazam"

out of curiousity, they bought the game and decided to play it, but it turns out it was a plot made by Sivana Jr/Georgia Sivana to trap them in the game forever [essential a coma], rendering them unable to say their magic words in real life The trio must complete the trials [or more accurately, "Games"] that's based on the SHAZAM Pantheon in order to free themselves from the game and defeat the final boss [which is a very giant Sivana robot]

for example Solomon's wisdom could be a Zelda-esque dungeon

Achilles' courage could be a horror game where the trio survives

Mercury's Speed could be a racing game where the trio must win at 1st,2nd and 3rd race

if you want to make it interesting, You could add Dexter Knox to the mix, since the kid is also a prodigy at mechanics, he could try make cheats for the game in real time whenever Georgia Sivana/Sivana Jr decides to make the game extremely unfair to them. For example: Sivana JR:" Enjoy the Touhou-esque Bullet hell boss fight!" Dexter:"Infinite Bubble shield!" or that time when theyre in "Achilles Courage" And got themselves founded by the monsters in the horror game Dexter:" alright guys, I found myself a way in again, here's a couple of guns with limitless ammo, rip and tear until it's done-" Sivana Jr:"OH ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME!?" Georgia Sivana:"PARTY POOPER!"

though, i'd like to imagine Dexter had to find another way into the system once the sivana siblings blocks him
